NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A 10-year-old boy was killed Tuesday when a driver crashed into scaffolding and knocked it down in Brooklyn.

According to an ABC7 report, the driver suffered an apparent seizure behind the wheel of his vehicle, which then went crashing into scaffolding on the sidewalk.

The accident happened outside a seven-story apartment building on Avenue L in the Midwood section of the borough just after 3 p.m.

It’s unclear if the child was struck by the vehicle or collapsing scaffolding.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An 8-year-old girl was also injured and taken to Kings County Hospital.

The driver and a passenger were also taken to the hospital, where the 50-year-old driver is being treated for head injuries.
