3 Killed, 4 Injured In Overnight Queens Fire

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Three men were killed in an overnight fire at an abandoned home in the St. Albans section of Queens, officials say.

The victims are believed to be squatters.

Fire officials were called to a fire inside of 190-12 110th Road at approximately 11:53 p.m. on Thursday. 

After extinguising the blaze, firefighters found the men unconscious and unresponsive inside the home. 

One neighbor said the house had beem empty for over a year, but not boardded up, so homeless people would come and go looking for a place to spend the night.

About 100 firefighters battled the blaze. Several sustained minior injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under nvestigation.
