32 Hurt After 2 NJ TRANSIT Buses Collide In Lincoln Tunnel

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Two NJ TRANSIT buses have been involved in a crash at the inbound Lincoln Tunnel.

One bus rear-ended the other bus on the Manhattan side of the tunnel around 10 a.m. Friday.

"Both buses proceeded out of th etunnel and the fire department responded for medical treatment and triage," said the FDNY's Ed Baggott. 

Officials say 32 people have been hurt -- 25 of the injuries are minor. Seven people suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. They were all taken to local hospitals.

Some tunnel traffic was diverted to Dyer Avenue and the New York Expressway.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
