NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Four 13-year-olds are now facing charges in connection with a fire at a vacant historic mansion in New Rochelle.

The 163-year-old Wildcliff Mansion was destroyed in the Nov. 26 blaze that officials said was intentionally set.

All four teens are charged with criminal trespass. One of the teens faces an additional charge of arson.

The mansion was designed in 1855 by famed architect Alexander Jackson Davis. It was gifted to the city in 1940 and had been used by the city and non-profits before it was closed down about a decade ago.

The city had recently put out bids to restore the landmark but now it may have to be torn down.
