NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Police say at least six people were injured in a hit-and-run crash in the Bronx Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 3 p.m. near the intersection of 163rd Street and Washington Avenue in the Morrisania section of the borough.

Police say it all began when a car was pulled over for a traffic violation and took off, running a red light.

The vehicle slammed into the side of another car, which was carrying five passengers, pulled away and struck a second car, carrying one person.

Authorities say none of the injuries were serious.

Three people inside the vehicle that tried to elude police ran off after the car came to a stop. According to CBS2, one suspect allegedly tossed a gun.
