NYPD: Missing 6-Year-Old Boy Found Safe Along With Stolen SUV

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police say a 6-year-old boy that was in the back seat of an SUV when it was stolen in Brooklyn has been found safe, along with the missing vehicle.

The NYPD says 6-year-old Ronald Mowatt was found unharmed inside the vehicle at around 1 p.m. somewhere in Brooklyn.

The vehicle, a 2007 white Acura MDX with Georgia license plates, was originally stolen from Avenue L and East 96th Street in Canarsie when a 28-year-old man reportedly stepped out of the car and left it running. 

Police have not released any additional information about the child or the circumstances under which he was found.

Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea noted that authorities were still hunting for the suspect, or suspect, who stole the vehicle with the boy still inside.
