6-Year-Old Bronx Boy Survives Fall From Third-Floor Window

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) --  A 6-year-old boy has been seriously injured after falling out of  a third-floor window in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx on Friday.

Authorities say that just after 7 p.m., the boy’s parents had the window open and had taken the screen out in order to put in an air conditioning unit when the six-year-old climbed up and fell about 30 feet.

The boy, who reportedly has special needs, survived the drop and it appears that a soft soiled area of the landscaping outside the building on Bailey Avenue may have broken the boy’s fall.

“They said that the kid is still alive, he was crying and conscious so I hope he’s going to be OK,” the building super told CBS 2.

Officials say that this incident was just a terrifying accident.
