June 30, 2018 - 4:09 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- An eight-car accident on a street in Harlem left seven people injured Friday afternoon.

Police say that at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, in front of 159-04 Harlem River Drive, a 27-year-old male left his 2018 Dodge Challenger unattended with keys in the ignition. As the car sat idle, an unidentified male entered the car and took off.

Cops say the man drove the car to the intersection of W. 129th Street and Eighth Avenue when he collided with two other cars. Rather than stop, the driver fled the scene but lost control of the vehicle and collided with five other cars.

The suspect driving the Dodge Challenger took off on foot, police say. He entered the subway station at W. 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.

Authorities say passengers of the other vehicles were taken to Harlem Hospital and treated for neck and back pain.

Police are still looking for the individual who is described as a black male in his 20s. He is 6-foot, 150 lbs. and was last seen wearing no shirt with a pair of patterned pants.
