NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – An Amtrak work train derailed at Penn Station on Saturday morning, leading to problems for NJ Transit.

A mechanical issue caused the train to derail, according to NJT.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but some NJ Transit trains were being redirected to Hoboken.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street.

LIRR said service was not impacted but that the derailment could reduce track space.
