NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- An arson suspect is under arrest for a gas station fire on Staten Island earlier this week.

Police say 26-year-old Fakrol Islam of Brooklyn was tracked down in Buffalo.

He had been caught on video lighting a piece of paper and putting it next to a gasoline can on Monday. The gas station quickly went up in flames before fire extinguishers reacted.

One person near the fire was seriously injured, suffering internal bleeding.

Police still don’t know why Islam set the fire. He is currently in the hospital.

Islam is charged with arson, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
