Bus Rider Slashes Woman In Face For Trying To Pet Dog, Cops Say

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD says a woman slashed a fellow bus rider in the face when the passenger tried to pet her dog.

The incident happened Monday at around 2:30 p.m. near East 149th Street and Morris Avenue.

Police say the two women were on a public bus in the Bronx and one was holding a dog.

When the other lady went to pet the dog, the owner apparently became enraged and slashed her in the face with some sort of weapon.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital and treated for four slashes to the face. She is expected to be fine.

The suspect fled in a green SUV taxi, police say.

Shekema ​Young, 38, was apprehended Tuesday and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
