NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The father who kidnapped his infant daughter and prompted an Amber Alert has been arrested and charged.

Police say that Jerome Pippins, 24, abducted his 8-month-old daughter just before 10 p.m. Friday, inside a motel-turned-homeless-shelter off the Van Wyck Expressway.

Investigators issued an Amber Alert because the infant, August Pippins, was taken under circumstances that lead them to believe she was in danger.

Police say both were found unharmed Saturday morning in Harlem.

Jerome Pippins was arrested and has now been charged with burglary, custodial interference and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
