Cory Booker Tries To Energize Campaign With Newark Event

April 13, 2019 - 3:50 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker is trying to energize his campaign  with an event in Newark, followed by a two-week national tour.

His theme was “We can’t wait.”

Booker has yet to see his campaign have the same sort of bounce that rivals like Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and California Sen. Kamala Harris.

Public polling has him somewhere around seventh among more than a dozen candidates, while his fundraising total of $5 million for the first quarter of the year lags well behind fellow senators Bernie Sanders and Harris.
