Cuomo Blasts MTA For Lack Of Control Of Overtime Abuse

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Almost a month after accusing some workers of fraud when it comes to overtime abuse, Andrew Cuomo, who effectively controls the MTA, says the agency is still not doing enough to track how many hours people have worked.

“I mean you have an organization of over 70-thousand employees how do you not have a time and attendance system? How do you not know when people come to work and when people leave?,” says Cuomo.

The MTA says two new time clocks meant to log in and out times were recently vandalized.

“Name an organization that doesn’t know when the employees come and when the employees go,” Cuomo added.

Specifically, on the vandalism, the governor says it’s as if the employees are shocked with the changes.

He says the board needs to be filled with people who simply understand how to run a railroad.
