NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- The National Alzheimer's Foundation is having an educational event in New York City next week.

If a cure is not found by the year 2050, 15 million Americans will be diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.

Charles Fuschillo told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall that the Educating America Tour will stop in New York City on May 18.

"It's about education. It's about service. It's about tips and strategies and information on local resources. The biggest stigma attached to thsi disease is the word denial. People don't want to talk about it. People don't want to recognize it, but when you first recognize some change in an individual's behavior, with regard to their memory, you shoyld address it right away, and don't be in denial," he said.

The event will take place in the Crown Plaza Times Square Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
