NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The widow of a firefighter killed while battling a blaze on a movie set in Harlem has filed a lawsuit against the city for not protecting her husband.

Eileen Davidson, the wife of Michael Davidson, says in her lawsuit that the city ignored safety issues at the building where her husband was killed.

Davidson was a 15-year veteran of the FDNY when he ran into a burning building serving as a movie set for Edward Norton’s film “Motherless Brooklyn” on March 23, 2018.

Following an investigation, the FDNY announced a boiler venting heat sparked the blaze.

A spokesperson for the city's law department says the incident was tragic and they'll review the case.
