NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Fisher-Price on Friday ordered a recall of all models of its Rock ‘n Play Sleeper after more than 30 babies reportedly died while using the product.

"Infant fatalities have occurred in Rock 'n Play Sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances," said a statement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

It said the recall involves all Rock 'n Play Sleepers, about 4.7 million products.

"Since the 2009 product introduction, over 30 infant fatalities have occurred in Rock 'n Play Sleepers," the CPSC said.

Following the recall announcement, Fisher-Price maintained that the product "meets all applicable safety standards."

The company says it is working closely with the CPSC to inspect the safety of all products, including the Rock ‘n Play Sleeper.

Early this week, the CPSC warned parents not to use the sleepers for infants who are able to roll over or are older than 3 months.
