FORT LEE, N.J. (WCBS 880) – Police in New Jersey had to rescue a little boy who got stuck in one of his toys.

Officers were called to a home in Fort Lee after the 20-month-old got trapped inside a toy meant to teach kids about shapes.

“He got in, got wedged in, and he couldn’t get out,” his mother, Soona Choe, told CBS 2.

Choe says she was unable to free her son Luca and had to call for some police backup.

Sergeant Rick Hernandez told CBS 2 that when he arrived at the home the boy’s expression “was just priceless.”

“He had this face on like ‘yeah, I did it,’” Hernandez said.

The jaws of life – normally used to extract people from crashed cars – were even being sent to the home, but Hernandez said they ultimately didn’t need it.

Hernandez was able to get the boy out by breaking open the toy with his bare hands.

His mom said she’s going to keep the toy and the photos so Luca can get a kick out of them when he’s older.
