NEW YORK (WCBS 880/AP) -- More charges have been filed against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein for an alleged sexual assault of a third woman, prosecutors said.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr. announced Monday that a grand jury has charged the 66-year-old with an additional count of criminal sex act and two counts of predatory sexual assault, a felony charge carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The newest charges are related to an incident in July 2006, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.

“A Manhattan Grand Jury has now indicted Harvey Weinstein on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York’s Penal Law,” said Vance. “This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward. Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice. Please call us at 212-335-9373.”

Weinstein's attorney, Ben Brafman, said Weinstein expects to be "fully vindicated."

Weinstein previously pleaded not guilty to rape and criminal sex act charges stemming from two separate encounters, one that occurred back in 2004 and another in 2013.

One alleged victim, who has not been identified publicly, told investigators that Weinstein cornered her in a hotel room and raped her. Weinstein's attorney, Ben Brafman, said the woman and Weinstein had been in a 10-year consensual relationship that continued for years after alleged rape. The other accuser, former actress Lucia Evans, has gone public with her account of Weinstein forcing her to perform oral sex at his office in 2004.

Dozens more women have accused him of sexual misconduct ranging from harassment to assault.

Weinstein has previously denied all of the allegations saying the sex was consensual.

Brafman says any actions were consensual and charging Weinstein as a predator "is simply not justified.''

Weinstein is scheduled for arraignment Monday, July 9.
