Handcuffed Suspect Still At Large After Escaping Police Custody

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The NYPD has released photos of a robbery suspect who is still at large, one day after he escaped custody.

Police say 20-year-old Tyquan Ellison was in handcuffs when he bolted around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, while being booked on robbery charges.

Police say he assaulted a girlfriend and stole her phone.  They say he has gang ties, and a history of drug, robbery, and assault arrests.

Ellison was being walked into central booking in Brooklyn when he made off.

Several schools in the area were put on alert as police searched for the 20-year-old suspect. He was not apprehended as of Tuesday evening.

He is described as a black male standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 170-pounds. He was last seen wearing an olive green track jacket with red stripes, light blue jeans and black sneakers.
