July 06, 2018 - 2:36 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Some Hoboken and Jersey City commuters headed to Manhattan were stranded Friday afternoon, as PATH Train service was shut down for hours.

Starting before noon, service was suspended between Journal Square and 33rd Street, and also between Hoboken and 33rd Street. Service did not resume until after 2:30 p.m.

The cause was a power problem in Manhattan.

NJ TRANSIT bus and rail services cross-honored PATH fares during the suspension. Cross-honoring was to end at 3 p.m.
