NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A video shows a Jewish man in Brooklyn being assaulted as he was walking on Rodney Street in Williamsburg Tuesday night at around 7:30 p.m.

In the video, a person runs up behind the 39-year-old victim and slaps him so hard that his hat flies off and nearly falls over CBS New York reports.

'We're pretty good prey, let's go for the knockout punch, you know you're not going to get hit back." says Williamsburg resident Johnathan Dee.

The suspect in the video can be seen running away.

"We're not involved in any type of violence, we were raised different so we're not a mixed society," he adds. "We have our own schools and everything but you could prey and go 'oh look, the dirty Jew', you know?"

Suspects sought in anti-Semitic attack

A similar attack occurred last Saturday around 1:15 a.m. Police say a man was assaulted by four men while walking on Broadway near Lynch Street. The suspects allegedly made anti-Semitic remarks to the victim.

The suspects rans off and the victim suffered bruising and swelling to his face.

The ADL says reporting the incidents is the first step in combating the problem and adds that they are offering up to $5,000 as a reward for anyone with information on the hate crime.
