NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Katz’s Delicatessen is hosting a unique contest Friday in honor of Meg Ryan’s iconic scene in the romantic comedy, “When Harry Met Sally.”

On the 30-year anniversary of the film, the deli is challenging diners to reenact a moan-filled scene at the restaurant and share it to social media.

Visitors bold enough to fake ecstasy as well as Ryan should post their recreations on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtags: #katzsdeli #fakeitlikemeg and #whenharrymetsally.

“Whoever gives us the most entertaining, the most, you know, realistic version of Meg Ryan, or the most realistic hair, or the most realistic sweater,” Katz’s owner Jake Dell said of how to win.

He notes the judges are looking for “something that is that ‘it factor’ that we can’t put our finger on.”

Though Katz’s is encouraging it today, Dell told the New York Post that visitors regularly imitate moans at the Lower East Side restaurant, “at least once a week, if not more.”

The winners will get lots of pastrami in addition to everything that Ryan and co-star Billy Crystal had on their plates during that famous scene.
