NEW YORK (WCBS 880) A Long Island City restaurant owner sent a threatening text to the neighborhood’s city councilman, Jimmy Van Bramer, regarding Amazon’s abandonment of its proposed second headquarters.

The text demanded that Van Bramer call an Amazon executive to apologize, saying “You can be at the back of the parade, or the front of the firing squad.”

The text goes on to say Bowen would add another sound bite to the funeral pyre of Van Bramer’s career during an appearance Bowen would be making later on Fox News.

Van Bramer called the text “disgusting” and tweeted that he alerted the NYPD.

Bowen, on his restaurant’s Twitter account, confirmed he sent the text, saying it was an attempt to unite us all, and that while his wording may have been overly harsh, “this guy sold us out.”
