July 13, 2018 - 7:42 am

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- LIRR commuters faced major delays and cancellations Friday after a person was struck by a train.

The person was hit near Woodside. LIRR trains were bypassing Kew Gardens and Forest Hills and Woodside (except for the Port Washington Branch).

Service was eventually restored with delays.

NYC Transit is cross-honoring tickets for the E train at Jamaica (Sutphin/Archer), Kew Gardens (Union Turnpike) and Forest Hills (71st Avenue), at Atlantic Terminal and 34th Street for the 2/3 train; and on the 7 train at Woodside (61st).

Police are at the scene.
