NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A Lyft driver in Queens suffered a vicious attack from a pugnacious passenger last week.

Footage from a dash cam that caught the assault was provided to WCBS 880.

Last Thursday, a man and a woman got into Eduardo Madiedo’s Ford Explorer, en route to Mount Sinai in Astoria.

"The guy seemed, I guess, slightly, maybe deranged or unstable," said Madiedo.

The man was suffering from some unknown malady. He was moaning, lying down on the backseat.

He told the driver to go faster, and then curses and gets frustrated, giving driving advice.

The driver reminded him to be respectful.

At that point, the man snapped and went on a rampage, punching the driver repeatedly as the vehicle was moving.

"Something triggered him and he just punched me in the back of the head all of a sudden. It was really unexpected," said Madiedo. "The car was in motion, I guess that was my main concern when it was happening was not to crash the car. When he punched me he knocked my glasses off, I couldn't really see that well. That was my concern, not to hit anybody else or crash my car and make things worse."

He even tried to climb into the front seat, as the woman pleaded, “Georgie, No.”

Police are looking for Georgie.

Lyft has reportedly banned him.

Madiedo isn't sure if he'll continue to drive for a living.
