Damien Bend, 36, was arrested by fire marshals Friday and charged with arson in the fourth degree.

The fire engulfed the two-story home on E. 51st Street in the Flatlands section after a Roman candle was fired into a bedroom window on the night of June 24.

Surveillance video shows the two-story home being destroyed from the inside out within seconds.

Witness Joshua King was at his girlfriend’s house at the time when he saw the home burn down.

“Basically, it went to the bedroom and caught a fire and they couldn’t stop it, so they tried to throw water on it. After they tried that, it basically caught a fire more and everybody ran and scattered and called the cops, called the fire department,” King said.

Firefighters said they've confiscated tens of thousands of dollars' worth of fireworks in the past nine days amid a spike in complaints across the city.
