MALIBU, Calif. (WCBS 880) -- Dozens of people have died and thousands more have been displaced by the wildfires in California, and celebrities are among those who have lost their homes to the ferocious flames.

In a Twitter post, singer Miley Cyrus said “my house no longer stands but the memories shared with my family & friends stand strong.”

Cyrus said she’s “one of the lucky ones”; “My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now,” she wrote.

Musician Neil Young said his home also burned down, posting to his website that he hoped “we can come together as a people to take climate change on.”

“Firefighters have never seen anything like this in their lives. I have heard that said countless times in the past two days, and I have lost my home before to a California fire, now another,” he wrote.

Actor Gerard Butler returned to his home in Malibu after evacuating only to find that it too had burned to the ground.

“Heartbreaking time across California,” Butler tweeted. “Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters.”

Other celebrities like Kim Kardashian West, Lady Gaga and Alyssa Milano also fled their L.A. homes this weekend as the historic wildfire closed in.

There were reports Friday that Caitlyn Jenner’s home had burned to the ground, but those reports turned out to be false.

Jenner posted a video to Instagram Sunday night showing the scorched hills near her home. She said “our house made it” and that “we are very, very lucky.”
