New Jersey School Superintendent Accused Of Public Defecation Resigns

July 29, 2018 - 11:13 am

KENILWORTH, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey school superintendent accused of defecating on another school’s track and field has now resigned.

Kenilworth School Superintendent Thomas Tramaglini allegedly committed the act on a daily basis at Holmdel High School. Police say he was caught relieving himself on the field in May.

In a statement, the Kenilworth Board of Education said Tramaglini, 42, had submitted his resignation earlier in the week. He had previously been on paid leave.

“Based on events unrelated to his service for Kenilworth, it has become clear to both Dr. Tramaglini and the Kenilworth Board of Education that his continued service as Superintendent of Schools has become too much of a distraction to the main mission of the district,” the statement read.

Tramaglini is charged with lewdness, littering and defecating in public.

His resignation will go into effect on Sept. 30. An interim superintendent will be appointed until then.
