Primary Day: Queens DA, Brooklyn City Council Seat Among Key Races

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- It's Primary Day in New York. 

For the first time in nearly three decades, Queens will get a new district attorney this fall. 

Seven names are on the ballot in Tuesday's Democratic primary for the position. The winner will face the Republican candidate to replace legendary lawman Richard Brown, who held the office since 1991. He died last month.

Other key races include the Brooklyn City Council seat previously held by Jumaane Williams, who left after being elected public advocated.

In Westchester, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano is seeking reelection as is Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas.
