NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Vaping has claimed two more lives in New York, raising the total number of vaping-related deaths in the state to four.

The state Department of Health says the victims are a woman in her 20s from New York City and a woman in her 50s from Ontario County.

"These deaths are tragic — and they are also preventable," Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. "We know smoking and nicotine are dangerous, and it's becoming tragically clearer by the day that vaping is too."

He says the advice remains if you don't know what you're smoking, don't smoke it.
