NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Three people were struck, and one of them was killed, when gunshots rang out on a Brooklyn street Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened in South Williamsburg at South 3rd and Hewes streets, police said.

Police said a 19-year-old man was shot in the head and pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center.

A 31-year-old shot in the torso was able to walk to the 90th Precinct for help and was being treated at Bellevue Hospital for non-life threatening wounds late Tuesday.

A third man was shot in the side and was listed in stable condition at Woodhull.

There was no word late Wednesday on a motive, but investigators said the shooting appeared to be gang related.
