NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — A fourth person under investigation for novel coronavirus in New York City has tested negative,  health officials said on Friday.

A total of five people have been tested in the city and results are pending for one patient.

There remains no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in New York.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says local health departments will soon get the tools to test coronavirus samples.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Sunday that people can call a new coronavirus hotline — 1-888-364-3065 — with questions or concerns. The hotline is staffed by experts from the Department of Health.

Twelve people in the U.S. are confirmed to have the coronavirus, while dozens more are being monitored.

Meanwhile, thousands have come down with the virus in China and hundreds more have died from it there.

In New Jersey, personnel from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention screened more than two dozen passengers on board a cruise ship for the virus. Four were taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation while 23 others were cleared.
