BRIDGETON CITY, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old girl who authorities say was kidnapped from a playground in southern New Jersey.

Dulce Maria Alavez was playing with her 3-year-old brother at Bridgeton City Park behind Bridgeton High School around 4:20 p.m. Monday when a man lured her away to a red van with a sliding side door and tinted windows.

Her mother was sitting in a car with an 8-year-old relative as the children played in the park and when she went to the playground to check on the kids, her daughter was gone.

"I just want to find her," her mother told CBS Philly.

The child is about 3-feet tall, weighs 60 to 70 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a yellow shirt with a koala bear on the front, black and white pants, and white shoes.

The suspect is described by police as a Hispanic male, 5'6" to 5'8" tall with a thin build. He has acne but no facial hair. The suspect was last seen wearing orange sneakers, red pants and a black shirt.

Police have been using helicopters and dogs in the search.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit at (609) 882-2000 ext. 2857, Bridgeton Police Department at (856) 451-0033 or CALL 911 immediately.
