BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WCBS 880) -- Authorities investigating the death of a Binghamton University nursing student from Long Island have released the identity of a person of interest in the case.

The body of Haley Anderson, 22, of Westbury was found Friday afternoon in her off-campus apartment in Binghamton.

Anderson was a senior nursing student at the university, and police said they want to speak with an ex-boyfriend and fellow nursing student.

On Monday, authorities identified Anderson’s ex-boyfriend as Orlando Tercero.

Authorities said Tercero caught a flight to Nicaragua right before Anderson’s body was discovered.

An autopsy has been performed, but authorities have not revealed publicly if they know how Anderson was killed.
