Death Of Woman Found In Staten Island Park Ruled A Homicide

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police have ruled the death of a woman found inside a Staten Island park last month a homicide.

Ola Salem, 25, was found dead in a wooded area inside Bloomingdale Park in the Prince's Bay section of the borough on Thursday, Oct. 24.

According to the medical examiner, Salem was strangled to death.

The 25-year-old was a volunteer at Asiyah Women's Center for Domestic Violence in Brooklyn.

Police say no arrests have been made so far and the investigation remains ongoing.
