First Full Day Of Deliberations In Skelos Retrial

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Friday marked the first full day of deliberations in the corruption trial of former New York state Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and his son, Adam.

What resonated with the jury? Was it Dean’s devotion to his son, or was it the repeated hounding of business executives to find Adam a job?

The defense argued that Dean reached out to others to help Adam, which is not a crime.

But the prosecutor pointed to witnesses who claim they felt threatened by Dean’s request.

Dean Skelos was one of the most powerful people in New York state. Without his approval, legislative business was locked up.
