NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is reportedly a public menace when it comes to speeding in school zones.

According to the New York Post, the Democratic leader received a $50 speeding summons in July – marking his 28th violation since 2013.

The paper says Williams was caught on camera speeding through a school zone in Brooklyn over the summer. In November, he promised to slow down after the media learned he had been caught over two dozen times since 2013.

The Post also reports that Williams owes the city nearly $300 in fines on three outstanding speed zone tickets.

In a statement, a spokesman said Williams has taken full accountability for the violations and completed a safe driving course in late 2019.

There was no work on when he would be paying the outstanding balances owed, along with the late fees that have accrued.
