LINDEN, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- Lenny Dykstra, the former outfielder for the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, was arrested Wednesday morning outside the Linden, New Jersey police station.

He was charged with drug possession and threatening an Uber driver.

The 47-year-old driver told police that while in his car, Dykstra asked to change the destination, but the driver said no. That is when Dykstra allegedly whipped out a gun and threatened to shoot the driver.

The driver then sped to a garage near the police department and honked his horn repeatedly before running out of the car, police said.

A weapon was not found, but police said Dykstra had marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy when he was taken into custody.
