NANUET, N.Y. (WCBS 880) — A pig that was found in a front yard in Nanuet on Thursday has been rescued and reunited with her owner.

The pig, named Swag, was found along Forest Brook Road just before 2 p.m.

Police officers searched for the pig’s owner but was unable to find the animal’s home.

Officers said Swag appeared to have overgrown hooves and was on the porky side.

Since no one had come forward to claim the pig, Swag was taken to the Hudson Valley Humane Society, a no-kill animal welfare center in Rockland County.

Shortly after, her owner came forward to be reunited with the animal.

Swag’s owner told the Rockland County Missing Pets volunteer group: “She is not from this area, she would have no way to find her way home. She gets very skidding and barks when scared, but she is NOT aggressive.”

Swag was lost for about 18 hours before being returned to her home.
