NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A suspect has pleaded not guilty in the murder of an elderly Lehman College professor during a mugging at an ATM on the Upper West Side.

Matthew Lee, 50, was first arrested on assault and robbery charges, but was later charged with murder after the victim died.

Last month, Young Kun Kim, 87, was getting money out of an ATM inside a Citibank on West 96th Street and Broadway. Surveillance video shows the victim standing in front of the ATM when the suspect rushes up behind him. They are seen struggling before the suspect drags the victim out of the frame.

Police said the suspect punched the victim in the back of the head and then took off with his money.

The victim later died of his injuries.

CBS2 reports that when Lee was asked if he did it he responded, "I don't remember."

Lee is being held without bail.
