NEWARK, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- The FBI has added a new name to its Ten Most Wanted List, and the suspect is wanted for a 2014 murder in Newark.

As WCBS 880’s Peter Haskell reported, Olga DeJesus and Lamont Stephenson reconnected at a 20th high school reunion and then became engaged. A short time later, DeJesus was dead.

She was found strangled in her Newark home.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Gregory Ehrie said the Ten Most Wanted List brings notoriety.

“Mr. Lamont Stephenson’s face is going to be plastered all over TV, all over billboards; it’s going to be sent out through our systems and other systems and through your news media,” Ehrie said.

Felix DeJesus Jr. is the victim’s brother. He has contacted prosecutors every month for the past four years.

“We’re looking for closure,” DeJesus said. “My sister was very happy all the time; very friendly. She didn’t deserve this. Nobody should go through this.”

Authorities said Stephenson dropped off the grid shortly after the murder. There is also a $100,000 reward in the case.
