NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — Police have arrested a man who they say robbed a blind woman at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

MTA Police located the suspect at Penn Station on Thursday. His identity has not been released.

The crime originally took place on Dec. 20 around noon in the busy bus terminal.

Authorities say the 45-year-old blind woman was standing with her 10-year-old daughter when the man approached them in the terminal South Wing, near the main concourse information booth.

The girl was reportedly sorting money in her mother’s wallet when police say the suspect quickly pounced in and stole $70.

The Port Authority Sergeants Benevolent Association and Port Authority Detectives Endowment Association donated $70 dollars each to the victim.
