The gruesome discovery was made by a relative who went to check on Saleh around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An eletrical saw was found plugged into an outlet near Saleh's remains, according to the New York Post

He was last seen entering the elevator in his apartment building on East Houston Street on Monday, followed by a man whose face was partially covered by a mask, the New York Daily News reported.

No suspects or motive have been identified.

Saleh founded the Nigeria-based ride-hailing motorcycle start-up called Gokada

The company confirmed his death on Twitter.

"We are deeply saddened to inform you about the sudden and tragic loss of our founder and CEO, Fahim Saleh. Fahim was a great leader, inspiration and positive light for all of us," the company wrote. "Fahim's vision and belief in us will be with us forever, and we will miss him dearly. Thank you for understanding as we get through this."

The Associated Press reports apartments in the 10-story building where the body was found sell for more than $2 million.
