Mayor Bill De Blasio Reports For Jury Duty

August 01, 2018 - 7:44 pm

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio reported for jury duty Wednesday.

The mayor reported to Manhattan Criminal Court, where he was called for jury selection in a firearms case.

De Blasio had to cross out his last name on the jury summons sheet because it was spelled wrong. It did not have the space between the two parts of his last name.

The mayor has now completed jury service, without being selected because he told the judge he will be on vacation.

De Blasio is now off the hook for six years for jury duty in the city, and four years for federal jury service.
