Missing Brooklyn Children Found Safe In Midtown

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Two missing children were founds safe in Midtown Thursday a day after vanishing from their home in Brooklyn.

Lala Washington, 12, and her brother Andrew Hillard, 9, had last been seen going to a breakfast program across the street from their home on Amboy Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn around 8 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Their mother talked with CBS2 Thursday afternoon.

“Andrew and Lala, if y’all could get away from wherever y’all at, y’all know how travel. Come home. Come home to mommy. I’m waiting for you all. I’m not leaving here until y’all come home,” said Kimberly Washington.

Not long afterward, there was good news.

The two missing children were found at a Starbucks Coffee at 325 W. 49th St. in Midtown.

Police said the children were in good health, but they were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Their mother was notified.
