NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Two men were shot, and one of them was killed, within blocks of each other in Queens on Monday, police said.

Police told WCBS 880 that one man was shot on 111th Street near 107th Avenue, the other on 104th Street near 107th Avenue, on the cusp of South Ozone Park and South Richmond Hill.

One of the men was shot in the neck and was pronounced dead afterward, police said. The other was shot in the pinky finger, police said.

Police are treating the shootings as one incident, but the investigation continues.

Police also said the incident involved a motor vehicle crash. A vehicle headed east on 107th Street collided with a parked vehicle as well as an occupied vehicle, police said.

It was not clear whether the car crashed because of the shooting, or if the crash happened first and road rage was the motive for the shooting.

The perpetrator remained on the loose late Monday afternoon.
