MORRISTOWN, N.J. (WCBS 880) — A major New Jersey hospital system is dealing with a host of concerns from high tech to low tech.

Three weeks into this crisis and Morristown Medical Center still doesn't have all the test kits it needs and when they do give a test, they have to wait for the result, according to WCBS 880’s Peter Haskell.

“We're now seeing turnaround time more in the order of two to four days,” said Brian Gragnolati, president and CEO of Atlantic Health.

Atlantic Health includes Morristown and six other hospitals – 25-30% of the patients coming into the facilities end up in the ICU.

“And a significant portion of those folks are on ventilators and that is a very, very big issue that we need to pay very deliberate attention to,” Gragnolati said.

The CEO says he was moved by a man outside the ER holding a sign to thank staffers inside.

“It means the world to us,” he said.

Gragnolati is pleading with people to stay home to avoid spreading the virus.
