NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey man was arrested for tweeting about killing agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Carlos Alejandro Tariche, 22, posted, "We need to kill all ICE agents," on his Twitter account on Dec. 11.

He also posted, "Why can’t mass shootings occur at @ICEgov buildings them mfs need to get smoked."

Other messages included comparing himself to a mass shooter and posting a quote from "The Irishman" - "You might’ve heard I paint houses" - that refers to murder.

Tariche, of Edgewater, was arrested on Friday morning by the Department of Homeland Security and charged with interstate communications containing threats to injure.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He was scheduled to appear in New Jersey Federal Court on Friday.
