NJ TRANSIT Train, Bus Collide In Garfield, N.J.; Service Disrupted

GARFIELD, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- An NJ TRANSIT train collided with a bus in Garfield, New Jersey Monday afternoon, shutting down service on the Bergen County Line.

The train hit a private carrier bus near the Plauderville station, NJ TRANSIT said. The bus is owned by NJ TRANSIT, but operated by Community Coach Bus in Garfield, NJ TRANSIT told WCBS 880.

Information about injuries was not immediately available.

Bergen County Line service was halted in both directions after the accident.

NJ TRANSIT substitute bus service was in place between the Wesmont and Broadway stations.

Bergen County Line service resumed just before 6:30 p.m., but with hour-long delays in both directions.
